Another month, another drama finished, another piece of my soul gone forever.
Okay, okay, I’ll cut the drama queen act for a minute. Your girl is BACK with, well, another drama I’ve successfully blazed through since the last drama binge post.
In the past month, I watched The Legend of the Blue Sea (푸른 바다의 전설 ) starring Jun Ji Hyun (My Love From Another Star) and Lee Min Ho (The Heirs).
History repeats itself as the world of land and sea combine when a mermaid makes contact with a human boy. Without giving too much away, the story bounces back between parallel plots taking place in the Joseon period of 1598 and modern day Seoul.
Lee Min Ho plays the royal magistrate Kim Dam Ryung as well as smooth-talking con man Heo Joon Jae.
Jun Ji Hyun takes on the role of the beautifully naïve mermaid. Her innocence will pluck at your heart strings at times…but for the most part, it’s just hilarious. Luckily, she doesn’t need to trade her voice for a pair of gams.
For fans of historical dramas, modern dramas, romance, comedy, and heart-clutching tradegy…this is the one for you! This drama throws a ton of curve balls, so be prepared to feel A LOT all the time.
This drama totals 20 episodes; though, I will say that it is not easy to pace yourself due to the mass amount cliff hangers. You will want to binge this one!
As always, I recommend catching this drama on kissasian
Happy watching and let me know what you think!
