Pamper Routine!

Hey guys!

It’s no lie that this semester has totally thrown me for a loop. To combat the stress, I like to unwind with a few of my favorite skincare and pamper products. A night of pampering combined with a late 90’s rom-com and homemade cookies is my kind of recuperation.

Step 1: Cleanse


I cannot feel fully relaxed and at peace with a full face of makeup and oil slick. I double cleanse with an oil cleanser and a foam cleanser.

My tried and true duo is the Banila Co. Clean it Zero followed up by the Neogen Green Tea Real Fresh Foam Cleanser. However, I recently picked up the Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Oil with Coconut/Argan Oil and I’m already in love.

For nights when I need that all-in-one cleanser, Philosophy’s Purity 3-in-1 face/eyes cleanser is my staple; it smells like lemongrass and a little truly goes a long way!


Step 2: Strip (the pores)

FullSizeRender 3To give my pores a little extra love, I treat them to My Scheming Blackhead Mask. It’s a three-step kit that includes a charcoal gel that hardens into a peel-off pore mask. This works wonders on my nose and areas where my pores are more enlarged.

If a full face mask is needed rather than a simple pore strip, I reach for the Queen Helen’s Mint Julep Masque. This product is increasingly hard to find offline! It gives your face a minty feel while totally extracting the unwanted gunk and sebum from your pores. I love using this mask the night before a special event to ensure a smooth face with diminished redness and unclogged pores.

After all is said and done, there are usually some spots to treat. By this, I mean incoming acne as well as scares/hyperpigmentation from past pimples. To zap away incoming and current acne, I dot on the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ; it does wonders at drying up acne overnight!

I’m no stranger to acne scars because of my late middle school/early high school acne flare-ups. Luckily, the Murad Active Radiance Serum is full of nutrients that help fade the pigmentation.


Step 4: Relax

All that’s left to do is…

Pop a tray of cookies-for-one in the oven; this recipe call’s for 1 egg yolk – the egg white can be used as a face mask while you wait for your cookies to bake!

Light a candle (my newest obsession is Target’s Lush Amazon – smells just like a fresh shower!)

And turn on a favorite movie!
